News anchor Katie Couric and 45 girlfriends chose Le Midi and the Karaoke Cave beneath as the venue for Katie’s bachelorette party on June 18, 2014.

The celebrations kicked off at 6.30pm with the party taking over the entire back dining area. Wendy Walker, Katie’s best friend decorated the room and tables and even created customised M&Ms, adorned with Katie’s and future husband, John Molner’s faces, for the event.

Katie and friends enjoyed drinks at Le Midi’s long marble bar before sitting down to enjoy a special three-course meal. During the meal there were speeches, singing and a surprise performance from a gospel choir which had everyone on their feet singing and dancing.

At 10pm the group headed downstairs to the Karaoke Cave, which Wendy had hired out, for a special cake and desserts, and of course to belt out some favourite tunes..and to create one or two new ones. Some friends changed the words to the Beatles’ “I saw her standing there” to an alternative version about Katie.

Andrew Song, owner of Le Midi and the Karaoke Cave said: “It was a huge success – our two-in-one spacious venue really gave Katie and her friends the chance to let their hair down. We wish her all the best for her forthcoming wedding.”
